Other local men!

men2men at a glance!

men2men is a Hywel Dda Health Board seed funded unique service for men, led by men. We engage men around Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigionshire to set up small, activity groups to draw in local men.

Such shared activities can be fun and enable men to connect with others, generating a sense of belonging, fellowship and a space in which they may feel comfortable to talk about how they really are.

We help group leaders plan their activity group and provide direct support in starting and running them. Some of these men are volunteering significant time and really are community champions.

We also engage and support volunteers around our area to buddy other isolated men. This contact for men, particularly those more isolated during the lockdown has proved to be crucial.

men2men train men to lead men's sharing circles.  These circles offer much needed, simple, permissive spaces in which men can share how they are really feeling. The feedback we are getting from men has been very moving as they experience other men openly talking about themselves.

Men who are particularly distressed by loss are supported through more focused grief and loss groups.

Men2men create men's wellbeing hubs with a difference, across West Wales. Our first CardiShed, Is an extraordinarily well resourced hub in Cardigan. It offers a wide variety of woodturning, pyrography, woodworking, drumming andguitar lessons. It also acts in support of men making and sustaining big changes in the way they live. We have set up other hubs in Hakin and Carmarthen and men's sheds in Burry Port.

We are developing other sheds in Kilgetty, Tenby and Whitland.

Latest m2m wellbeing hub!

men2men create social, well-being hubs, which draw in local men to meet and interact with each other, through a variety of activities.

Our Tywi hub will evolve around local men's needs and skills, creating workshop based activties initially at the Quay Centre. And community projects in the town supported by Carmarthen Town Council.

We also offer
men’s sharing circles, woodland therapy in nearby FFwrdgain woods (Crwbin) and where needed some 1:1 counselling.
